Red Bay Coffee Fired up & shop-roasted
Our totally amazing partners
Keba and Rachel Konte own Red Bay Coffee, a wholesale roaster with retail spaces, in the Fruitvale neighborhood of Oakland. Daily Driver was looking for a collaborative coffee partner that makes outstanding coffee and shares a similar vision for their business. Red Bay Coffee envisions a world in which coffee is a vehicle for inclusion, social and economic empowerment, entrepreneurship, innovation, and environmental sustainability.
Keba and Rachel are both makers and had other successful food related businesses that eventually morphed into Red Bay Coffee. Keba, a San Francisco native, has been a coffee pioneer in the Bay Area for over 10 years, and has been recognized for his commitment to fair and equitable working conditions for his staff, drawing diverse talent from his community, and his drive to be a better, fairer leader within coffee.
Rachel spent 15 years as a designer and director of women’s products at Levi Strauss. In 2012, she opened OwlNWood, a boutique clothing store in Oakland. The shop is known for its small production and locally designed products, all of which Konte curates daily.
Just as the bagels, butter and cheese are made right at Daily Driver, Red Bay Coffee roasts a special Daily Driver blend on-site.
